Russell’s Reserve Single Rickhouse Series Camp Nelson C

  • Distiller:

    Wild Turkey

  • Bottler:

    Wild Turkey

  • ABV:

    56.2%

  • Age:

    NAS

  • Price:
    $$$$$
  • Intro:

Distilled by Wild Turkey and said to be aged at least 10 years, this 56.2% ABV release is the latest LE from the Campari brand, with a $249 price tag.

  • Nose:

Soft and sweet, fruit forward and loaded with soft oak, brown sugar and a touch of signature Turkey orange peel and spice.

  • Taste:

Moderate palate, not super rich but plenty of satisfying viscosity. Sweet, lightly oaky, pleasant fruits and a touch of spice.

  • Finish:

Medium to long finish, there's a touch more oak here but without the delicate nuance of some of the better single barrel Russell's we've seen in years past.

  • Overall:

A competent bourbon to say the least, Russell's Reserve Single Rickhouse seems to be a likely limited-edition stunt to help clear out a decommissioned warehouse whose gems are being seen in the market at CNC Kentucky Spirit Barrels. Get a handful of those instead, although the whiskey here is still very good, despite its inability to live up to the greatness of Russell's 13 Year and bolder, better LE's from years before.
