Speyburn has somewhat built their portfolio on the inclusion of sherry casks in some part of their age stated releases, but this US only, 46% single malt features hand selected bourbon casks only for the components here. Let's dive in.

Nose:
Sweet cream, honey, melon and cantaloupe. It's sweet, melon forward fruitiness and tons of malt character.

Taste:
Light on the palate at first. Slate, pepper, honey, light cream, some faint salinity and honeydew. Interesting blend of lighter, sweeter, lightly mineral forward notes. No heat, no tannin; light, fruity and sweet.

Finish:
Medium to long finish, supple and sweet, silky and smooth with plenty of peach, maple, honey, a touch of pepper and this big melon note. Wildly unique for a Scotch.

Overall:
This is wildly interesting, fruity, fun, exceptionally intriguing. It's not the oakiest, most cask influenced pour but it makes for an easier sipper that will leave no one disappointed.
