  • Intro:

Distilled by Buffalo Trace, this single barrel selection was selected by the Dallas Bourbon Club and features bottling at cask strength with no filtering. Let's dive in.

  • Nose:

Huge, powerful, bold and brash. Brown sugar, luxardo cherries, honey, toffee and a powerful tobacco character. Oaky, a hit of ethanol. There is nothing meek about this.

  • Taste:

Hot at first, rich on the palate, and loaded with cherry, cola, oak, toffee and ethanol. There's no doubt it's drinking at its age, and while it's hot, there's no shortage of flavor. Pure flavor.

  • Finish:

Long finish, rich, oily, packed with Luxardo cherries, oak, toffee, pepper, a touch of apple crisp and brash baking spice.

  • Overall:

There is no shortage of flavor here. It's bold, it's brash, and it teeters on the edge of 'too much' sometimes - but that's always been the Stagg Jr motto, and this delivers nicely on that promise. If you like smooth, supple, easy drinking: pass on this with all your might. If you want the worlds most flavorful rollercoaster: buckle up. You're in for a ride.
