  • Excerpt: The Starward Two-Fold Double Grain Whisky is tasty, but I’d love to try a 5+ years ex-Bourbon version to really see what’s going on with their spirit.

  • Excerpt: I was about to go for 79 but the nice finish lifted that a wee bit. Very honest effort from Downunda – and I know regular barrels will be much more to my liking.

  • Excerpt: The palate shifts quickly from white to milk chocolate, red apple, crème de cassis, peppercorn spices, and cookies, but it’s soft and gentle, finely structured, with more dark fruits coming to the fore. The finish is drying and short, with evaporating spice.

  • Excerpt: The palate shows a little more of the grains with a round and creamy spirit featuring loads of buttered toast flavors. The berry note (from the barrel) adds a light accent in the finish.
