  • Excerpt: I can’t say which I prefer between the 10 Year Old and the Storm. Truth be told, I’m still torn. Both are excellent and offer the taste you expect from Talisker but each gives you a slightly different look.

  • Excerpt: All and all, not a bad expression, but it loses points for a name that doesn't deliver; this is more moody and brooding than stormy and intense.

  • Excerpt: The label may be missing how many times the world went around the sun since it was distilled, but it tastes good and has the maturity, balance and restraint that I look for in a good whisky and in the end that’s all that matters.

Raided Score is a conversion from an external site's score, to our in house uniform scoring system. Please see the FAQ for more.

  • Intro:

Bottled at 91.6 proof, Storm is a core product from Isle of Skye distillery Talisker. Talisker distills by the sea and peats its whiskies, leading to smoky and intense flavors.

  • Nose:

Bold, funky and loaded with salinity. Honey, rising bread and a touch of toffee.

  • Taste:

Impressive salinity on Storm, but it’s arrogantly expressive. Talisker excels at taking that briny, maritime, air note to the max, and it works here. Sweet buttercream, light oak, honey and toffee.

  • Finish:

Long finish, peppery and packed with plenty of honeycomb, pepper and a touch of salinity once more.

  • Overall:

Talisker Storm is the IPA of the Talisker core line. Powerful and likely polarizing, this delicious, sea-air whiskey will make or break fans who are curious about Talisker’s house style.
