Excerpt: Out of the bottle I think this is a crowd pleaser, but I have to say I think I prefer the standard Talisker 10 year’s rougher edges. With just a little bit of water The Distillers Edition really shines and captures that element of giving you just a little bit more from a well known product. I just wish I got that maritime flavor I love from the 10-year-old.

House Review
Intro:
A 2021 release from Diageo-owned Scottish distillery Talisker, this is Talisker The Distillers Edition, a single malt aged in American oak and ex-Amoroso Sherry casks.
Nose:
Sweet and fruity at first before slate, salinity, a pop of iodine and apple crisp storms in. Lovely blend of fruit, peat, salinity and rich wine character.
Taste:
Rich on the palate, I love how much viscosity is here despite the “low” proof. Apples, pears, red berries, pungent salinity and a touch of sea moss.
Finish:
Long finish, heavy on the fungal. Briny sea air with a pop of toffee, fruits, wine and sweet butter cream.
Overall:
Talisker knows just how to draw me in and keep me interested. This Distillers Edition is no different, with a great pairing of age, salinity, wine and beautiful base malt.
