  • Price:

  • Intro:

Distilled by Tamdhu and aged for 15 years exclusively in sherry casks, this 46% ABV bottling is a hopeful competitor in a crowded category.

  • Nose:

Aromatic and certainly sherried, the wine peeks out right away. Honey, a bit of almond, some clove and honey.

  • Taste:

Sweet red berries, light nuttiness and toffee driven sherry sweetness. Faint bit of date. Moderate mouthfeel, more viscosity than expected and the complexity is wonderful. Sweet date fruit, toffee, light cinnamon and stewed fruits on the palate.

  • Finish:

Long finish that’s malt driven and just sweet enough from the wine, not over-sherried by any stretch.

  • Overall:

Excellent balance - Tamdhu is such a sleeper. It's not commonly stocked, though it's certainly not rare, and it delivers a great profile.

  • Score:

    7
