  • Intro:

Distilled by Tobermory and aged for 12 years, this unpeated expression from the distillery is bottled without coloring or filtering. Not often seen in the past, it's encouraging to see more Tobermory here in the states. Let's dive in!

  • Nose:

Sweet and buttery on the nose: a touch of vanilla, coffee and toffee before lemon, lavender and a sweet, floral bouquet pops in.

  • Taste:

Moderate mouthfeel. Pleasant, drinks nicely for the proof, good viscosity given the age and ABV. Sweet cream at first, gives way to pepper, honey, lemon bar, a touch of crushed stone and the lightest smoke influence - mineral forward with a touch of ash and char.

  • Finish:

Long finish that's deeply char forward, delightfully mineral forward and full of life and sweet, fruity character.

  • Overall:

Overall, this is an excellent entry that exists between peated and unpeated things, a demonstration of minerality and a touch of ash that can pair with almost any flavor on the Scotch spectrum.
