Excerpt: A very easy but very good malt, well above the rather mundane 12yo OB. Has something of a high-end blend. Excellent value for money in any case.

House Review
Intro:
This is the 15 year old expression of Tomatin's core range. Originally only available in duty free / travel retail formats, this expression now is also part of the core range, alongside the 12 and 18 and various 14yr finishes.
Nose:
Sulphur, salt, pepper, light fresh bread. Honey, caramel, little bit of almond. Lot more wood influence here, less almond and bread.
Taste:
Medium, mild heat. Lots of good sherry character - plums, honey, light fig. Faint berries. Some pepper, pipe tobacco, fresh baked bread.
Finish:
Short, no real heat. Sulphur, oak, honey, vanilla.
Overall:
Honestly, I was hoping for a big improvement over the 12 but I like it about the same.
