Raided Score: 88Publication: The Whiskey Wash Excerpt: This whiskey has some nice complexity. It’s not rich for a bourbon, maybe accounting for its youth. I’d love to taste the same in a few years.Read Full Review Raided Score: 87Publication: Whisky Advocate Excerpt: The finish is chocolaty, with more notes of peanut, as well as orange peel, herbaceousness, and peppery heat.Read Full Review Raided Score: 75Publication: Whiskey Consensus Excerpt: Overall, this is an interesting pour and worth ordering a glass next time you are wanting to experiment with something new.Read Full Review Raided Score: 91Publication: Drinkhacker Excerpt: The lumberyard edge of a young whiskey hasn’t completely been worn smooth here yet, but it’s well on its way — and drinking quite nicely today.Read Full Review Raided Score: 85Publication: Whiskey Raiders Excerpt: I think this will be really solid when it ages, but it needs more time. House Review
Intro:
Sourced from Kentucky, this 70% corn mashbill bourbon is aged for two years and is billed as either a mixer or sipper.
Nose:
Malty and bready on the nose. Popcorn, butter, some pepper, hint of vanilla.
Taste:
Thin on the palate. Wet grass, peaches, some cardboard. No heat, coats nicely, but it's clearly young.
Finish:
Short, buttery finish. More youth notes here, green sapling, peaches, bit of grain.
Overall:
I think this will be really solid when it ages, but it needs more time. Curious at 4 years and 6 years, especially.
