Excerpt: There were many elements about this rye whiskey that really surprised me. Where I normally get a delicious burnt salted caramel/brown sugar note from higher aged rye, here I got nothing of the sort.

House Review
Intro:
Distilled from rye in Canada, this rye release is sourced through American distiller and bottler Treaty Oak in Texas, USA. It previously carried the name Red Handed Rye before a rename.
Nose:
Rich marmalade, butter, toffee, some rye spice. Big, syrupy, rich nose with brown butter and molasses and clove.
Taste:
Spearmint, rye spice, orange peel, exceptionally bold clove and bread character. Rich on the palate, heat is just right, lots of body. Right amount of oak. Oh man.
Finish:
Long finish, filled with rye spice, orange marmalade, honey, toffee, some cinnamon and a wallop of clove.
Overall:
This is the stuff. Complex, powerful rye with great body and a great mouth feel and finish. Winner.
