House Review
Intro:
Distilled by Uncle Nearest, this is the brand's first release with in-house distillate, which is an exciting development. Let's dive in!
Nose:
Rich maple and spearmint, fun granny smith apple note, touch of pine.
Taste:
Youthful wood notes, honey, tobacco, sweet tea and a touch of sweet oak.
Finish:
Moderate finish, youth shows through once more. Sweet and punchy with some baking spice here and there.
Overall:
It’s great to see Uncle Nearest releasing its own rye, but this expression is released a bit too soon, where youthful notes distract from the potential of a well-structured rye.
