  • Intro:

Distilled by Stitzel Weller in 1957, this release was bottled in 1969 after aging and comes with an epic provenance. An export bottled in bond designation allows this to come in at 45% ABV and represents what many bourbon drinkers consider a grail bottling.

  • Nose:

Rich and decadent on the nose. Old books, musty tobacco, parchment, caramel, honey, butter scotch, fig, cherry and this succulent dessert quality.

  • Taste:

Rich on the palate, sweet and loaded with cream, cherry, cocoa, cordials, root beer, light cola, sticky toffee. Buttery texture, absolutely decadent.

  • Finish:

Long finish, sweet and opulent. Cola, cherry, old tobacco, cream, nougat, honey and a finish that lasts forever.

  • Overall:

Truly a unicorn worth chasing, this ranks up with the 1954 American bottling at 50% I had years back. Incredible.
