Composed of 25 different batches of distillate from 25 different farms, this is The Cuvee. Batch LODE*ST-AR, it's bottled at 50% ABV with no filtering or coloring and the batch contains 40,000 bottles for global release. Let's dive in.
Beautifully rich with caramel, pralines, sweet frosted flakes, a touch of lemon zest along with some candied ginger. Unique to say the least, enticing to say the most.
Sweet on the palate, packed with orange peel, caramel, cereal grains, a faint touch of esters and ash. Viscous and silky mouthfeel, there's plenty of sweetness, praline, buttercream and a touch of lime and salinity. Delicious.
Long finish, it's sweet and complex, soil driven and filled with crushed stone, vanilla bean, caramel candies, light lactic funk, some citrus and a whole dish of spicy ginger.
Overall, this is quite something. Bright and spirity, funky and fun with notes that run the gamut from citrus to sweet to zesty and spicy. Lovely, fun, unique.
