Excerpt: On the palate, the flavors are bold, mouthwatering, and juicy, like dark berry fruit sprinkled with baking spices and spearmint. This has big impact, but is also delightfully drinkable, as the finish delivers citrus oil, stone fruit, and blackberry.
Excerpt: I hope to see more of this type of interactive bourbon-making from Buffalo Trace and others in the future. Kudos to Buffalo Trace for getting so many people interested in this level of interaction...now let’s see more of it.
Excerpt: This bottle would make a great addition to any bar. Those accustomed to barrel proof bourbon may find this spirit lackluster. However, those who enjoy a lower proof packed with flavor will appreciate the composition of this spirit.
Excerpt: I found the texture on the thinner side with a simple spicy finish. At its MSRP rate, it is a good whisky but nowhere close to Weller Full Proof. But you know, palates can differ and enjoying whiskey is pretty much personal. I found Weller C.Y.P.B a solid whiskey considering the quality and making. However its taste is just not for me.
Excerpt: Overall - this is drinking real well, though it's not particularly full bodied or complex. If you're looking for a soft, mild, sweet bourbon, you could do worse than pick up Weller CYPB for MSRP - a feat few will manage to pull off.

House Review
Intro:
Supposedly born out of the results of mass community polling, this Weller release from Buffalo Trace is titled 'Craft Your Perfect Bourbon' - an ode to the crowd sourced inspiration that lead to Weller CYPB's genesis.
Nose:
Soft, buttery, floral. Honey, praline, soft cream and caramel. Toffee. Sweet, dessert forward. Not a hint of ethanol.
Taste:
Thin on the palate, sweet, soft. Light butter character, a bit of cocoa, toffee, a light hint of anise. Butter cream frosting, light oak.
Finish:
Short to medium finish. It's soft again, with more oak showing, but it's sweet nature is first and foremost. Light toffee, cream, a hint of praline and cinnamon.
Overall:
Overall - this is drinking real well, though it's not particularly full bodied or complex. If you're looking for a soft, mild, sweet bourbon, you could do worse than pick up Weller CYPB for MSRP - a feat few will manage to pull off.
