  • Excerpt: It’s a great entertaining whiskey – a good batch to slowly sip on by the fire and an interesting conversation starter, but it won’t steal the show. A fine juxtaposition of sugar and spice.

  • Excerpt: This isn’t my favorite WhistlePig release, but I like what the company is doing to push the boundaries of rye and show what increasingly well-aged stocks can do. Rye fans should at least give it a whirl.

  • Intro:

Sourced by Whistle Pig in Vermont, this rye whiskey is distilled for Whistle Pig and matured further in their own oak casks for a special 15yr release.

  • Nose:

Spicy clove, gingerbread, fresh bread, honey and berry. Sweet, spicy, fruity rye.

  • Taste:

Spicy on the palate. So spicy! Whew. Pepper, clove, cinnamon, citrus. This is powerful and rye forward and a total spice bomb.

  • Finish:

Long finish. Once again, pure rye, oak and pepper.

  • Overall:

If you’ve ever looked at a rye, put it down and thought “man, I wish this was spicier”, then look no further. This is the rye you need.
