Excerpt: As its price slowly creeps up closer and closer to Russell’s Reserve’s, its perceived value and reason for existence becomes dimmer by the day. But if you can find it at the right price, it can definitely still be a great workhorse rye whiskey for you.
Excerpt: On the palate, lively citrus, white pepper, violet candies, and peanuts, before finishing with a tapestry of spices: ginger, allspice, and paprika. Characterful, well-proofed, and tasty stuff.
Excerpt: One sip reveals big wood notes of minty herbs and baking spice with trailing hints of tart green apple. The rye is warm and lingers with heaps of peppery cinnamon and vanilla.
Excerpt: I love this bottle, whether it’s for neat pours or a really competent cocktail bottle. It’s occasionally hard to find, but I’m always thankful when I see another.

House Review
Intro:
Produced using the same rye mashbill and barrel char profile, this is Wild Turkey's Rye dialed up a bit - where it should be - to 101 proof, much like their cult favorite bourbon.
Nose:
Bold brown sugar, rye spice, pepper, hint of orange peel and rising bread.
Taste:
Medium on the palate. Clove, pepper, sourdough, brown sugar. Nice presence, the ABV is spot on.
Finish:
Medium to long finish. Not the most complex, but the combination of brown sugar, pepper, clove and fresh baked rolls works really nicely.
Overall:
I love this bottle, whether it’s for neat pours or a really competent cocktail bottle. It’s occasionally hard to find, but I’m always thankful when I see another.
