This is the entry level rye whiskey offering from Wild Turkey. Released without an age statement, and at 40.5% ABV, this is clearly the little sibling of the venerable WT 101 Rye. Let's get to it.
Caramel, some faint confectioners sugar. Light oak, a bit of pepper, faint clove. Not a ton going on, but what’s here is pleasant.
Thin on the palate. No heat. Sweet, a bit of cream. Faint rye spice, clove and honey.
Short finish. Not a ton happening here. Light caramel and rye before it wisps away.
Overall, this is nothing special. It’s not bad, but it’s muted, one noted and uninspiring.
