Excerpt: For all it has to offer, this is still a very young rye, which is no more evident than in its relatively thin body, which fades away far too quickly. Lovely character. Would love to see this rye’s power at 5 or 6 years.
Excerpt: This is, in my opinion, significantly better than the 2yr. Air has done it TONS of good, so take that into account when you first open a bottle if you have one.
Sweet cream, clove, molasses, brown sugar, bright and fruity
Finish:
Long, impressively complex. Seeet and funky, mild "green" ness
Overall:
For $50ish, this is a hell of a dram and a huge warm hug to my heart that Willett distillate is headed in the right direction. This is, in my opinion, significantly better than the 2yr. Air has done it TONS of good, so take that into account when you first open a bottle if you have one. Im going to give this a Rank 6. Its well on its way to becoming a really great dram.
