  • Intro:

Distilled by Woodinville Whiskey Company in Washington State, this release is a distillery exclusive and features a high proof rye. Released without an age statement, but featuring a cask strength bottling proof of 116.62 proof, this release took some time on an airplane to track down. Let's get to it.

  • Nose:

Spicy pepper, pear, peach and honey. Rising sourdough, toffee, cream.

  • Taste:

Rich palate, some heat but not bad. Crisp and loaded with brown sugar, apple and spicy white pepper.

  • Finish:

Long finish that leaves no doubt this is rye. Bold and spic, more pepper and spice than the palate here.

  • Overall:

Overall, this is quite nice. An older single barrel might really pop, but this is an excellent demonstration of what WWC is capable of, and is paving the way to a flavorful future.
